Errrr. Good for you, I think....

All that stuff on here yesterday about how bloggers are self-absorbed and it's all a big navel-gazing plushy party? Heck, it must've been the drugs. I love this stuff as much as ever. It is simply the most fascinating thing I have ever been involved with.

Steve Pearlstein in the Post is fascinated too, from a MSM, who's-eating-my-lunch perspective.

And talking of lunch, or at least coffee... this a couple of days old, but still raises a smile.

Back, finally, after almost a week in bed. Not as fun as it sounds, though.

I missed the whole Eason Jordan thing, too.... but the fallout's been interesting.

As is often the case, arguments tend to get defined by the voices shouting the loudest. Increasingly, this is particularly true of the blogosphere; where sometimes setting up the board and deciding who gets to go first seems to be as important as rolling the dice and playing the game.

Call me old-fashioned, but despite my knee's tendency to jerk with the rest of them, I still need to go back and read more of the circumstances; and hopefully speak to some friends at CNN before I feel I can form an opinion that may or may not be worth sharing with anyone.

For me, I guess that proves I'm not really fully part of this new culture, but rather just an interested observer who happens to dabble. And to be honest, with everything I need to do in the real world, that suits me fine.

This story, for example, also happened while I was laid up and just seems too weird for me to completely understand right out of the box....

When I read how exercised some bloggers get about stuff that real folks don't give a rat's ass about, it shows how incestuous and self-absorbed this whole universe can be, and makes me want to restore some kind of perspective.

Imprisoned for "making fun of the President?".... Don't tell this guy, for goodness sake.

Interesting that Michael Bloomberg felt he had to make a statement today playing down rumours - which have been around for a while, to be fair, that his eponymous news service might be sold to Micros*ft.

And finally; 26 April is the big day.....
