Looks like a really nice story on Nightline tonight. Tune in if you get a chance.

(UPDATE: Apols - apprently the Nightline URL stays the same, but the nightly show content gets over-written, so clicking on the above link will give you the latest show details, not the one I meant, which was a 'where are they now' piece about African-American kids from Charleston SC who had been prevented from taking part in the Little League World Series 50 years ago).

Seems CBS is planning to launch a glossy magazine called "Watch!" (yes, there is an exclamation point in the title; one stop short of calling it "Hey, Yo, Watch This, Dammit!) sometime next year. It'll be free and controlled-circulation, but will be ad-supported, apparently.

And also on TV, as if to prove that there's really no such thing as a new idea...

Meanwhile, this is one of those stories that papers just keep on file somewhere and fill in the blanks every time they use it.

Sorry if anyone's on BA tonight or tomorrow. All this chaos because of inflight meals. Just eat before you fly, for goodness sake... All the airline has to do is comp the bar. Would cost a lot less than cancelling flights.

Heading off on vacation (with the usual caveat involving these guys and Chapter 11) at the weekend for three weeks, so blogging will be a little unpredictable. No change there, really.

Oh well.... isolated and scattered. Got to love those highs, though.

At least BA serves food. Very few US airlines do anymore. A bag of 15 peanuts or two crackers is the most you can expect on any flight less than 4 hours. More than that, and you might get a stale roll with aged meat in it.

Enjoy the weather in FL. It's "90 squared" here: 90+ degrees and 90+ humidity.

Enjoy the fact that your Euro/Pound will go further than our $$, and that even with oil at $65 a barrel, a gallon of gas is only $2.40 compared to what you would spend for a liter of petrol. But then, you know that.

PS If you go to Universal Studios, "Tower of Terror" is da' bomb!! I rode it 13 consecutive times last year when I was at the House of Mouse for a Cardiology conference.

See you soon. :-)
