Had a wonderful time here this past weekend. A really well-organised festival and the ambience was, as always, exactly how it should be - mellow, peaceful and celebrating two of the most wonderful things in life: music and being surrounded by like-minded souls.

Unfortunately, she had to cancel at almost the last minute, but there were more than enough great performers to make it a very special line-up indeed.

As you might expect, she was fantastic - her new album sounds really good; and these guys really got everyone going.

Unexpectedly pleasant discovery for me, though, was this guy, a Galician piper who, alongside his own regional identity, is able to trace a musical line through English, Celtic, Breton and Appalachian roots. His very modern interpretations of traditional forms were just incredibly resonant.

The whole day was, simply, joyous.

Another highlight was this guy, and although his Irish-reggae thing got a little old after a while, he had a great, passionate voice and a couple of tremendously powerful songs. He opened his set with a brilliant, infectious track (think Bob Marley meets Shane Magowan) called "Negative Vibe" - the lyrics to which are just amazing.

Probably the biggest disspointment of not being able to take my Canadian adventure was missing out on the Breton music. I had planned on going to a ceilidh and seeking out some local music at night.

Glad you had such a terrific weekend! Quite a lineup!
